1 Start growing swiss chard for a cold-hardy and tough veggie! This powerhouse all year long (in almost ANY grow environment) and harvest this delicious vegetable whenever you need one! Try growing swiss chard in your vegetable garden, today!
2 Grow Zone: 1-10. Swiss chard is great in many environments.
3 Water and Sun Needs: Full sun, 1 inch of water per week (though this could depend on the weather in your area)
4 Average Size: 6 inches to 3 feet tall, 10-30 inches wide.

6 Special Features: Low maintainence, ability to adapt, great for winter gardening.
7 How to Get Started: Plant Swiss chard about 3 weeks FOLLOWING the last spring frost date in your area. Plants can also be started for a winter crop after the last fall frost. Water the vegetables throughouly during the Summer and use mulch to preserve moisture if desired.
8 When to Harvest: Swiss chard should be trimmed back when the leaves reach a foot tall to help preserve the flavor. Expect the first harvest to arrive in about 4-6 weeks after planting.
9 What to Plant It With: Plant other cold hardy vegetables like kale, spinach, or cabbage.

    When you harvest Swiss chard by cutting stems , do they grow back ? Or is this one time harvest

      If you cut stems, they will propagate and grow back!
