DIY Trellis Ideas: String
I simply adore this idea because it is one of the simplest on the list! Use anchors and your favorite string (fishing line works too, honestly!) to create your own trellis on the side of your house. Just make sure you use plenty of anchor points to keep the string up and supported.

Why not just use what you have? Gather up two old 2x4s and cut even notches into the wood. They need to be in the same spot on both sides so you can string branches across like shelves. Place two old 2x4s into the ground and secure with cement. Once secured, place tree branches across the notches to create a unique looking DIY trellis idea.

Believe it or not, it’s actually pretty easy to build your own trellis out of metal You’ll need four pieces of 2x4s (to create the frame that the lattice will attach to) and plenty of chicken wire. After you have built the frame, roll the wiring out onto it and then cut the wiring to fit. Attach the wiring with a hammer and nails. Now, all that’s left is to encourage growth.
