Flower Combinations: Container Gardening

There are a ton of great flower combinations perfect for container gardening! Here are some of my favorites: Penny hydrangea with violas and snapdragon as well as strawflower with phlox and fan flower. You could even plant a container garden with daisy, sweet alyssum, pansies, and phlox. Now, all you have to do is pick out your favorite container and Etsy is a great place for that!

Flower Combinations: For Garden (Perennials)

Perennials are my favorite thing to landscape with because they come back year after year. This is great for gardeners on a budget. While purchasing perennials can be expensive upfront, remember that as long as they stay healthy they will be around for years to come.  For a beautiful garden, I recommend pairing: roses with blue salvia, yucca with lilies, hosta and astilbe, and finally: trillium and lady’s slipper.

Flower Combinations: Window Box

Another great place to add a gorgeous flower combination is in your window boxes. Not only can you enjoy them while you’re outside, but you can enjoy window boxes while indoors as well. I have a window box just outside of my office space and I love looking out at the tops of the flowers while I work. I find that it helps to keep me focused! Go for something bold with combinations like blue Scaevola and red trailing geranium (pictured below).

Or, go for something different but just as beautiful with a pairing of violets, petunias, and pansies (pictured below).

Flower Combinations: Annual (sun)

Looking for an easy way to liven up a flower bed located in the full sun? Full sun flower beds are my favorite because there are tons of options available for gardeners at any price range. Even better, there are plants that do well in full sun AND dry soil so that you can have a beautiful yard even in a drier climate. Here are a few of my favorite full sun flower combos: Sunpatiens vigorous red with coleus burgundy wedding train andcoleus PartyTime™ lime (you can purchase the combo here). Another pretty combination includes: Sunpatiens vigorous pink kiss paired with voleus PartyTime™ red bolero.
