I have had peonies in for the last 2 years. The plants grow to about a foot tall and don’t produce any flowers. They are I a sunny position and get watered regularly. Every thing else in the garden is doing well. What am I doing wrong, why aren’t they flowering?

Do you replant every year? When you plant them, do you plant in Spring or Fall? Typically, Fall planted peonies do better than those planted in the Spring. Your grow zone could also be a factor!

One was already in the garden and the other two I planted 2 years ago and have left in the ground. We have sunny weather in summer and very cold weather in winter, the occasional bit of snow. Any ideas what can be done to promote flowering.

Do you get enough bees? Perhaps you need more pollination

Usually, I find it takes about three years to get a peony plant to bloom. They do not like to be moved!

Are they planted too deep? Or not deep enough? 1 1/2 – 2 inches of soil above roots is best.
