Grow Zone: In warmer month, grow plants in zones 2-11.

Water and Sun Needs: Full Sun. Established Marigolds need a few inches of water per week.

Average Size: 6 to 12 inches tall. 6 to 10 inches wide.

Plant Type: Annual

Special Features: Grows in almost any grow zone, and will bloom through fall. Expect tons of fragrance and a relatively low maintenance flower.

How to Get Started: Pick an area of full sun with rich soil. Plants will still bloom in shade, but gardeners will notice their flowering blooms diminish quickly. Fertilize regularly throughout the season, taking care to deadhead dying blooms to keep the flowers blooming through fall. Water immediately after planting and then once every 7-10 days. Marigolds should be watered regularly.

When to Harvest: Marigolds don’t make very good cut-flowers, due to their short stems. Gardeners can expect blooms to appear in late Spring.

What to Plant It With: For a beautiful color combination plant these together: Bidens, Moss Rose, Zinnia.

Marigolds are always a delight in the garden. If you are looking for a new marigold for this year – try Super Hero™ Spry Marigold. It is a 2018 All-America Selections Winner and is a lovely compact (10-12 inches) French marigold with dark maroon lower petals and golden yellow upper petals perched on top of the dark green foliage. It is a National AAS Winner so this means it grew and performed well across North America. https://all-americaselections.org/product/marigold-super-hero-spry/
