1 Are you growing iris? If not, you should be! Add iris to your garden with my planting tips! This flower is available in a variety of colors, making it fitting for almost any garden. Iris plants love acidic soil, and can be easily grown in a container of any size. Try one of these flower garden ideas! Growing iris is super easy!
2 Grow Zone: Grow in zones 3-9.
3 Water and Sun Needs: This plant loves partial to areas of full sun. Water deeply but infrequently.
4 Average Size: 6 inches to 3 feet tall, 6 inches to 2 feet wide.
5 Plant Type: Perennial
6 Special Features: This is a great flower for containers, one that is incredibly low maintenance, and it even attracts birds!
7 How to Get Started: Start growing Iris in an area of your yard where it is sure to get at least half a day of sunlight. Gardeners should try to plant this in well draining and slightly acidic soil. Plant in mid to late summer, and treat it with fertilizer.
8 When to Harvest: These plants don’t provide an edible harvest, but gardeners can expect plants to bloom (if planted in late summer) by early to mid March.
9 What to Plant It With: Primrose, Peonies, and Lupine.
