Want bright and beautiful colors that last months? Try growing crossandra!Gorgeous Crossandra does well indoors, and even better in containers.
Grow Zone: Grows well in zones 10-11.
Water and Sun Needs: Does best in indirect sunlight. Water regularly, never allowing the soil to dry out.
Average Size: This plant should grow to be about 1 to 3 feet tall and 1 to 2 feet wide.
Plant Type: Depending on the variety, it can be an annual or perennial.
Special Features: Grows exceptionally well in containers and is known for being very low maintenance!
How to Get Started: Bright but indirect sunlight is the place for these bad boys. If planting in a container, choose a rich, peat soil. Make sure that the soil used is well-draining, or you may have an issue with root rot. Bi-weekly, fertilize your plants with a weak soil (such as Miracle Gro). When temps cool off, do not fertilize as frequently.
When to Harvest: No harvest, but expect these to bloom from late spring to early autumn.
What to Plant It With: French Marigold, Pentas, and Zinnia.
