Having a bright and colorful yard is always a fun project, but it can also be lots of hard and time-consuming work. Here’s a list great perennials that you can put in your yard to brighten it up and make it look great!

Peruvian Lily

This flower comes in shades of purple, orange, and yellow, so there’s lots to choose from. It grows two to three feet and make sure the soil isn’t too hot or it will damage the plant.

Aster

The best thing about this perennial (besides its great color) is that it can tolerate nearly any soil type. So if you live in a hard terrain, consider planting some asters!

Coneflower

Coneflowers are colorful and come in all sorts of warm colors: yellow, red, orange, etc. It’s also super tough, so you don’t have to give it as much attention and maintenance as other perennials.

Mango Punch Flower

This is one of the most beautiful flowers (I think) that you can plant in your yard. It’s low growing, so make sure that fits into your garden style. Also, make sure to clip dead flowers so the plant can put full effort to the other flowers!

Forget-Me-Not

If you’re looking for a beautiful and delicate flower, then look no further than the forget-me-not! It has bright, vibrant flowers that go great in any yard or garden.

Gaillardia

This is another flower that comes in various warm colors: yellow, bronze, and reds. It grows well and is pretty easy to maintain, so if you love the colors then go for it!

This plant blooms in great colors of pink and white. It grows from anywhere to 2.5 to 4 feet tall and looks great in pretty much any yard!

This plant goes really well when combined with lavender and/or red hot poker. The colors together make your yard really pop out and adds a great sense of character to the garden.

This plant has a strong and nice fragrance, so if looks and smell are what you’re going for, then this is a great option. It also is very colorful and has numerous other uses other than making your yard look great.

The best thing about the moonshine flower is that it’s a generous bloomer. It doesn’t take much to get it started so you can have a nice looking yard without as much work.

Penstemon

Penstemon comes in numerous colors, so similarity isn’t something that you’ll have to be worried about. Howveer, penstemon is pretty short lived, so just keep that in mind if you decide to plant it.

Pineapple Sage

If you couldn’t tell from its name, this plant smells like ripe pineapple, which is great! It has bright red stems in the fall and can grow up to about four feet tall.

Salvia Leucrantha

This is actually a pretty big perennial, so if size is what you’re going for then look no further. Salvia grows up to about three to four feet tall but can get anywhere from four to six feet wide.

Sea Holly

Sea Holly is one of the best flowers you can grow if you love making bouquets. It’s beautiful blue and silver colors are great for the yard or even in a vase in the home!
