Garden plants that require very little maintenance? Sign me up! You won’t have to constantly water, feed, or really do any sort of frequent care to keep these beauties up to par. Here are 10 of my favorite low maintenance garden plants! You’ll be surprised how little effort is required!

1. Quartz Rose Verbena

It doesn’t matter which grow zone you call home, you can grow Quartz Rose Verbena in any environment. It loves loose, well drained soil.

2. Rockspray Cotoneaster

This gorgeous bush first gives you beautiful florals and lush red berries, all for very little maintenance! It loves areas of partial shade. Make sure the soil is well-drained!

3. Jules Eli Peony

Peonies are one of my VERY favorite shrubs, and I love that this variety is especially low-maintenance. Use this grow guide from Gardenia to help you start this low care plant in your front or backyard landscape.

4. Butterfly Bush

Is there a person alive who doesn’t like the look of a beautiful Butterfly Bush? I dare you to try and find one! 😉 Make sure that you prune these beauties in the Spring to keep them low maintenance and beautiful in the late Summer months.

Do you often for get to water? I’m right there with you! Achillea plants are drought resistant, and they’re known for their dazzling bright blooms! Grow in zones 3-9.

6. Baptisia

If you love the look of wild flowers, consider landscaping with flowers from the Baptisia families. They come in blues, yellows, and lush purple shades. These plants like areas of low shade!

From colds to cancer (seriously!) this plant has been known to lessen the side effects of many ailments. But did you know that it is EXTREMELY easy to grow? There isn’t a reason you shouldn’t have one of these plants in your yard!
