1 Start growing violet today! Known for their bright appearances in early Spring, every flower garden needs a Violet flower or two. Check out my other garden ideas to pair with the violet, below!

2 Grow Zone: Grow versatile Violet in zones 2-11.

3 Water and Sun Needs: Depending on the variety grow in full sun, partial sun, or shade.

4 Average Size: 6 to 11 inches tall. Violet can widen to an incredible span, make sure you plan ahead!

5 Plant Type: Perennial

6 Special Features: Violet has a gorgeous fragrance, is low maintenance, and is a great addition for any kind of container!

7 How to Get Started: If you want early blooms, start your Violet seeds indoors six to eight weeks before the last frost in your area. When ready to transplant, place your seedlings in rich, well draining soil in an area of partial shade. Fertilize immediately after planting, and then again a month later. Keep the soil moist, and water it accordingly during warmer months. Remove dead blooms as they fall off.

8 When to Harvest: Expect Violet seeds to bloom right around the same time that your Spring bulbs do.
