When it comes to perennial vines, start growing Trumpet Vine. A perennial vine powerhouse, the Trumpet Vine is gorgeous but often considered to be an invasive plant. However, with regular deadheading, this vine can be a prominent landscaping feature without taking over your garden. You’ll need these growing trumpet vine care tips when gardening!

Grow Zone: Trumpet Vine does best in zones 5-9.

Water and Sun Needs: Likes areas of full sun. Plants should be watered once weekly.

Average Size: 8-20 feet tall (or higher), can be 30 feet wide.

How to Get Started: Be warned that this vine can be considered invasive. You may end up with them all over your garden! This vine loves areas of full sun, and should be watered deeply after planting. During the summertime (and once established) Trumpet Vines need as little as an inch of water per week. If winters in your area are warm, expect to water lightly during the winter as well.

When to Harvest: These plants are not edible. Expect a bloom within the first growth cycle AFTER the plant has established itself.
