When cared for properly, Begonia flowers can be a lasting part of your home decor. Here’s my foul-proof grow guide to growing begonias!
Grow Zone: These grow best in zones 7-11.
Water and Sun Needs: Grow in an area of partial sunlight. Water regularly, but ensure that the soil is not soggy.
Average Size: 6 inches to 3 feet tall. 6 to 12 inches wide.
Plant Type: Annual
Special Features: Great for containers, and doesn’t require much care or maintenance.
How to Get Started: If growing in a pot, make sure you account for the space needed for your plants to grow. Make sure your container leaves 2 inches of grow room around the roots. Plant in an area that gets full to partial sunlight. As with most annuals, make sure that the soil stays most without being soggy. Soil should be dry to the touch before watering again. Plants should be fertilized once monthly.
When to Harvest: Expect blooms to appear in late spring. Gardeners should deadhead the blooms to prevent regular, new growth throughout the seasons.
What to Plant It With: Impatiens, Blue Lobelia, Wishbone Flower.
