1 Grow Zone: Plant Daylily in grow zones 3-10.

2 Water and Sun Needs: Daylily loves the sunlight. Make sure it is planted in an area of full sun, or at least partial sunlight. Daylily flowers like to be deeply watered. Make waterings more sporadic, but make sure water penetrates at least 6 to 8 inches in the soil.

3 Average Size: 6 to 8 inches tall, 1 to 3 feet wide.

4 Plant Type: Perennial

5 Special Features: Daylily is known for a powerful, sweet fragrance making for beautiful cut flowers. It’s a beautiful addition to a flower garden, and looks beautiful in containers!

6 How to Get Started: Plant in an area of full sun in well-drained soil. Make sure to use a mixture of peat moss or compost to the soil after planting, and give your new perennial a decent, deep watering. Gardeners should fertilize plants twice yearly; in spring, and then again come fall.

7 When to Harvest: Daylily blooms will look the most beautiful come the first months of June.

8 What to Plant It With: Pretty flower combinations include: yarrow, black-eyed Susan, blazing star, and butterfly bush.
