Have you ever heard a gardener tell you that it was a good idea to kill your plants? I didn’t think so! It’s a good thing that there is a first for everything, because I am about to give you FIVE good reasons to kill your plants, as well as some other plant care tips. It isn’t as scary as it sounds! Here’s what you need to know about plant care!
#1 It’s Grown In The Wrong Place
Did you mistakenly read the grow recommendations on your plant from the nursery? Don’t sweat it! Mistakes happen, and we’ve all been there. Or, sometimes a plant grows in a completely unexpected way! In either event, your yard and garden could benefit from being killed off. Trim your trees back, and kill your plants! It’s time to start over!
#2 You Hate The Plant
If your plant isn’t growing the way you’d hope, or if it is completely overpowering the rest of your landscape, it might be a good idea to kill the offending plant! Instead of putting up with plants you hate, fall in love with your garden again!
#3 Trade Out Your Lawn or Flower Bed
Are you lacking the space for a walkway or a beautiful porch? Instead of shuffling around huge trees and dramatic flower beds, give your guests something to look forward to on the walk to the front door! Trade out your lawn (or flower bed!) and create a seating area or a pathway instead. It makes a huge difference asthetically!
#4 The Plant Isn’t Doing Well
Maybe it’s something about the grow conditions, or something about the plants it’s surrounded by: if you plant isn’t thriving, it might be time to let go! Don’t let the focal point of your yard become a diseased plant that is miles smaller than the rest!
#5 The Plant Is Diseased
While it is absolutely possible to save a plant being overriden with disease, if it gets to a point, it might be time to just let go. If you’d rather nurse your plant back to health, check out this great guide from HGTV.
