Use any of these organic remedies to combat a variety of pests while keeping your plants safe.
Soap Spray

Garlic Spray
Another effective insecticide, this mixture gets rid of ants, aphids, and spidermites. Press a full garlic clove into two cups of water and let ferment for a few days. Add this mixture to another gallon of water.
Baking Soda Spray
Treat any form of powdery fungus with 3 tablespoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of dishwashing liquid. Mix well and apply to affected areas.
Milk Spray
Another treatment option for powdery fungus, mix 1 quart of milk to every quart of water. Once again, spray directly on all of the plant leaves affected.
Garlic & Pepper Spray
Say goodbye to cabbage worms, hornworms, aphids, and flea beetles with this magic spray. Combine 6 tablespoons of garlic, 1 tablespoon dried hot pepper, 1 minced onion, 1 tsp of liquid soap to every gallon of water.
Ant Traps
Get rid of ants anywhere in your garden with 1/4 cup of sugar and a 1/4 cup of borax. The borax basically dehydrates the bugs from the inside out.
Snails and Slugs
Get rid of snails and slugs in your garden with a small saucer full of beer. They like the smell, but they can’t swim.
Earworms
Get rid of Earworms in corn stalks by adding a drop of mineral oil to the top of the corn. This should be done throughout the grow season.

Hi again, I have a lilac tree that’s had a white powdery looking mildew (?) For two years in a row. It hasn’t shown up but I assume it shall. Should I wait until it does to spray the milk solution on or pre treat? Have you noticed how frequently it needs to be done? I’m assuming if it’s a repeat matter I can freeze the milk between applications?
Thanks!
