1 Looking for a seriously fragrant flower? Try growing Dianthus! This plant is known for it’s gorgeous blooms, and extremely fragrant flowers. Start growing dianthus for cut flowers and ground covers!
2 Grow Zone: Grows best in zones 3-10.
3 Water and Sun Needs: Plant in areas of partial to full sun. Expect to water plants at least once weekly.
4 Average Size: Under 6 inches to 3 feet tall. Will grow to 4-18 inches wide.
5 Plant Type: Perennial
6 Special Features: Birds love it, makes for gorgeous cut flowers and is extremely low maintenance.
7 How to Get Started: Plant in areas of full sun (but partial sun will do) or somewhere that 6 hours of sunlight is common. Water plants whenever the first few inches of soil appear dry, and expect to water plants at least every 2-4 weeks.
8 When to Harvest: You should not expect a harvest from this fragrant flower, other than a cut flower. Flowers will bloom in Spring, and may even extend to late Summer and early fall if deadheaded in early Spring, as they should be.
9 What to Plant It With: Plant with Perennial Geranium, Corabellis, and Iris.
