Effective all natural weed colors are a dime a dozen in the gardening world. Winter is on the way, but that doesn’t give you an excuse to put off weed treatment! One of your last (or first, depending on how you work) Fall gardening chores should be to make sure your garden is free of weeds. Although they’ll likely sprout up again come Spring, taking care of the ones you have now will definitely lessen your work load! Head to your pantry, here are 5 all natural weed killers!
Vinegar works wonders when it comes to banishing pesky weeds in your garden! Mix 1 gallon of vinegar, with 2 cups of Epsom Salt. Spray on weeds after it’s thoroughly mixed. Or, you know, just pour it directly on the offender!
Boiling Water
Yep. You read that correctly. Pour boiling water directly on that pesky weed and watch it sizzle. This method works best for weeds that have just started growing! Boiling water is one of the best all natural weed killers!
Cornmeal
If crabgrass and dandelions are the banes of your existence, sprinkle some cornmeal on them and say “sionara!” Not only does it kill existing weeds and crabgrass, but it will prevent new ones from coming back!
Head to your medicine cabinet and break out the rubbing alcohol! Mix a bottle (seriously) of rubbing alcohol with 1 quart of water. Pour this into the roots of the weed.
Salt
Using a 3:1 ratio, mix salt with water. Let the salt fully dissolve in a spray bottle, and spray the leaves of your weeds. Genius!
