After the gardening season, I so look forward to Halloween. I search the internet for some fun and easy, yet spooktacular DIY Halloween light decor. I found some great ones and some for outside as well.
DIY Halloween Light Decor
Who else loves DIY Halloween decorations? It’s a great way to welcome the change in seasons, and it’s fun to make your yard look super spooky. I searched for some amazing ideas. In terms of DIY Halloween decorations, here’s what you should do:
Cut out scary eye holes in toilet paper and paper towel rolls. Put them in your yard and place glow sticks inside them. The light will glow and look like spooky eyes are looking at you!
Get these adorable and festive Halloween pumpkin string lights. Hang them up inside or outside; wherever you think is best.
Make these spooky spider pumpkins by making it look like spiders are crawling all over the pumpkin. Light the spiders up with small lights for added effect.
Light your front yard cemetery with some spooky lights to make it even scarier! Get a blinking or flashing light to make it more intense. These have to be one of my favorite DIY Halloween light decor ideas.
Make a lighted garland that you can hang up around your home somewhere. You can even do a big one with festive decorations to cover your garage.
Use the light from the inside of your home for window silhouettes. You put cutouts in your windows and inside lights will make it look spooky.
Make these eerie pumpkin/cat combinations that you can set on your steps or front porch. Decorate and paint them as much as you want.
Use Mason jars to make monster faces with lights on the inside! These can be placed anywhere in or around your home. Use tea lights or something similar for the best lighting.
Add some hanging bats around your home. You can add some spooky red eyes by attaching red lights, or you can make the whole body glow.
Make this super simple and fun ghost garland that you can put up around the house. Just string together a bunch of white cups with ghost faces on them and light them up!
Aren’t these glowing pods just so spooky! Hang them from your trees and porch beams for an up-close scare!
I love the idea of using a small decoration to make a big scary shadow. Just put the cutout near the light and project it up on the side of your house.
What a fun and clever idea! Add some light to your yard and a nice scary with this zombie skeleton holding a lantern. So cool!
There are tons of string lights that you can get to add lighting to dim areas in your home as well as set the Halloween mood. It’s usually orange and darker colored lights.
Hang some spooky lights from the trees that can flail in the wind to cast scary shadows all over your yard and home. What a great idea!
This idea is so freaky to me, but I love it! Form a circle of ghost children and then put a light in the middle of them to add a spooky effect with shadows!
Get some lighted eyes and put them in your windows, on the porch, or somewhere else on your home. The eyes can be any size you want, just make sure they’re big enough for people to see!
Turn the lights in your yard into a spooky ghost without much work! Just hang a cloth or something over the lights, make it ruffled and look scary, and you’re good to go!
