IF you aren’t growing bathroom plants, you should be! Add a few plants to your bathroom countertops or windowsill for a relaxing, spa-like atmosphere. Or, at the very least, these easy to grow bathroom plants will add some color to your decor!
Orchids are beautiful, and absolutely great to grow in the bathroom! The damp, warm conditions found in the bathroom make it easy for these tropical plants to thrive. Orchids grow better in bark instead of soil, and the bark should be kept damp at all times.
Golden Pothos are extremely easy to care for! Keep them out of direct sunlight, and ensure that it’s soil doesn’t become overly dry. These plants are incredibly low maintenance, and rarely require any kind of special attention! The lack of sunlight needed make this the perfect bathroom plant.
These bright beauties certainly bring a pop of color to even the darkest bathrooms. Similar to Golden Pothos, these babies dislike directly sunlight! These also purify your air, making for a refreshing and clean smelling space! It’s a win win!
Spider Plant (or China Doll)
The Spider Plant is an often grown houseplant. Mostly because they tolerate low lighting, they love humidity, and they are super easy to propagate! If you choose to grow China Doll with the Spider Plant remember that the China Doll plants need indirect sunlight, and moist, well-drained soil. Both of these plants love the conditions in the bathroom!
Grape Ivy is more commonly known as oak leaf ivy. Grape Ivy loves to hang out by a bright window, and really loves moist soil!
Bromeliads are super bright, and they look like they came straight out of a jungle! Different varities of Bromeliads have different color combinations, but all of them are bright and beautiful. Make sure they have plenty of filtered light and tons of moisture in the air. They love indoor climates!
As seen in the picture below, this variety of plants loves humidity so much that they can be grown in the shower! They’re known for purifying the air, and literally require no work whatsoever! Especially if grown in the shower where they’re occassionally misted by water.
This plant is super small, and it loves areas with low lighting. Be sure to keep it out of any areas with direct sunlight because this will cause the leaves to wilt.
Tropical Pitcher Plant
These plants come from the tropics so they love humidity! Place them in the window for a cool “vining” effect. These plants also love to eat household bugs, so it will help to keep any annoying pests at bay!
Commonly referred to as “mother-in-laws” tongue, this plant is seriously impossible to kill. It tolerates heat exceptionally well, and can grow in any kind of lighting environment. They also don’t require a ton of water, and if kept in the bathroom you may find that the humidity is enough to satisfy this plant.
This plant from South America doesn’t need a whole lot of well…anything to survive. Keep its soil damp (although it does tolerate dry soil surprisingly well), and make sure it’s kept in an area with high humidity. It’s one of the perfect bathroom plants!
