Considered an “aggressive weed” in most grow zones across the country; Creeping Charlie loves moist soil and taking over your yard. Creeping Charlie is also known as “ground ivy” and as a part of the mint family (it even smells like mint!) it has a tendency to spread. Before beginning, you have to determine if what you are dealing with is really Creeping Charlie. Creeping Charlie has kidney-shaped leaves with scalloped edges (see photo below). Leaves are often bright green and very shiny. Creeping Charlie has an elaborate root system which makes it difficult for effective plant removal.
